Thomas Sweets Ice Cream is awesome. The flavors are so delicious and hard to choose which one to get. I love their Sweet Cream as well as their Chocolate. My wife got pumpkin and loved it. Vanilla is always a great basic. I love to do the blend ins. It comes out so incredible. The atmosphere is great and inviting. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5 star is the staff. I felt like I was a bother by asking to be helped. No interaction with me at all. The young man took my order and the only time he spoke to me was when I was checking out to tell me how much it was for the total. Customer Service can make or break an establishment but because this is an iconic place in Princeton people still will go. I can only imagine how many people don’t go back because of the lack of Customer Service.
As a big fan of Thomas Sweets, I was quite disappointed on my last visit here. Much of the ice cream was melted, while some were so liquidy that ordering them would be a sticky death wish. Additionally, the back was kept quite unclean. The quality of the ice cream itself (when properly frozen) is good, but the defects outweighed the benefits in this last scenario.
It's a local Homemade ice cream shop. I ordered strawberry ice cream, and the color was a bit pale than the one you bought from the market, but the taste of it was fantastic. Highly recommend it if you happen to be in the area. You don't want to miss it. 🍨😋 …
The ice cream is rich and tasty, but unfortunately the double scoop size is really small for the price. All the flavors are very good especially the sweet cream, raspberry, chocolate, vanilla and also cinnamon. Some of the staff, including the tall guy with big hair, need a lesson in customer service, as they are fairly rude and don't know how to talk to people properly. For that reason, I would rather spend my money elsewhere.
This is our Go-To ice cream spot in Princeton. The service is great and the quality of ice cream is always good! The portions are also outstanding! The only recommendation I have it the seating area. It is small, cramped and during the busy months you'll never find a seat. Additional available seating would be my main recommendation.
A famous ice cream spot in Princeton.
Very busy during the summers, queues running along the sidewalks.
There is ample of seating indoors and outdoor.
Not many options to choose from but whatever they have got is pretty decent.
Was expecting much more from this place in flavours. Loved that is not too dairy/ milky in flavour.
They have blendables also.
We tried vanilla &
Chocolate raspberry.
Having lived in Princeton my whole life, this place has always been the place to go. Famous for their custom blend in flavors, where you can add anything from Crunch bars to blueberries to Oreos to peanut M&Ms with flavors like cinnamon and Nutella or chocolate Oreo. Not hungry enough though for a whole blend in at the time I went, I opted for just a plain old single scoop. But at $11+ for 2 single scoop cones that were borderline kiddie sized... that were a bit scant on the scoop it was a little disappointing. Plus the ice cream was soft which isn't what a traditional scoop should be. The place is always busy which is great, but I wasn't super thrilled with the quality.
They did my friend so dirty!!! Her "blended" chocolate ice cream with brownie bits was a sickening brown goo served in a plastic acai bowl. My other friend's blended ice cream came out a totally different texture (not to mention was served in a regular paper cup). The girl behind the counter did NOT clean the machine before making the second blend either, so the vanilla came out clearly discolored. Why would you even offer the product if you can’t make it consistently? At a total of $14+, the poor quality was totally unjustifiable. I took my friends here for a treat but this was not it. Would not return or recommend.
